
COBO Center Phase IIIb Renovations
Turner/Tooles, serving as agency construction manager, led Phase IIIb capital improvements at Cobo Center, covering about 580,000 square feet of renovations and 150,000 square feet of additions. Work included converting the former arena into a 40,000-square-foot ballroom with full kitchen and support spaces, renovating the south concourse into a multi-story atrium, upgrading Michigan Hall, improving concourses, toilets and service corridors, and installing a new exterior façade and media wall, all sequenced to keep the convention facility in full operation.
